We didn’t have 5 generations of old Barossa forefathers who selected the land and planted vines to be ready for us in 100 years time. So we did it ourselves and created a new vineyard of 6144 Grenache, Shiraz, Mataro and Riesling vines.
However, like the forefathers we never had, we planted traditional dry grown bush vines in the cooler natural surrounds of the Barossa ranges.
Seek and ye shall find!
Our mission is to create wines that are complete expressions of the vines we planted on the soils we selected to enable us to remain custodians of the future.
McLean’s Farmgate is about the grapes, the soil, the wine in our patch of Barossa. We are worth finding.
